Home time.

I am writing this note from Singapore again. Dad and I are in the airport. We have to wait a long time until our next flight.

At changi airport

It is ok though because there are so many cool things to look at and do.

I saw this airbus A 380 with its engine out.

I had pancakes for breakfast when we got here.

Pretending to sleep...I want to stay up.

We left Colombo last night at 130am. I slept in the plane, again!!

There are really cool fish in this airport and drawing places. I have made a lot of pictures.

Massive goldfish!!!!

Dad and I have been making pictures.

We leave for home in 2 hours. I am excited.

Sandcastles and sunsets

After traveling back to Colombo dad went to the barbers for a shave, he was really hairy!!!

Aysha took me to the beach where we saw a jellyfish. Because of this we weren't allowed in the water.

When dad came he bought Hannah with him and we made sandcastles.

The sunset was amazing today. We took pictures of it.

Tomorrow we leave for NZ.

Ambalangoda and the Turtle Hatchery

Yesterday we went to Hikkaduwa beach to swim. It was awesome, hot and Dad took me into the sea.

 Hikkaduwa Beach.

Me and Luqman in the water.

 Umar got buried!!!

Dad and me going into the sea...we went in up to our necks!!!

The Sea Turtle...about as big as DAD!!!

We saw a Sea turtle (2 of them but one up close) swimming around in the waves. It was really close and we swam with it around us.

It was really hot, 38 Degrees today, too hot for cricket so we slept in the afternoon.

At night we had a BBQ and watched the fireflies in the sky.

Dad got bitten by a beetle and we had an ant (black) invasion in our room cause I left a biscuit on the floor.

Today we went to the Kosgoda Turtle hatchery. We saw heaps of baby turtles and some big ones too. One was deformed because its egg was damaged. It is a rare turtle so they are looking after it. It is about 40yrs old.

The turtle hatchery helps sacve turtles that might get eaten by birds or dogs and releases them into the wild when they are big enough to fend for themselves.

Some of the turtles have been injured. these are the big ones, and they are being cared for until they are strong enough to go back to the sea.

The old and deformed turtle.

 Heaps of baby turtles.

A video of the turtle swimming around.

I got to hold a baby turtle, they are wiggly and wet.

Look...a baby turtle on my hands.

We are going back to Colombo today after lunch.

The Wedding and Ambalangoda

The main reason for us coming to Sri Lanka was to go to one of Aysha's cousins weddings. This wedding was much bigger than Dad and Aysha's. There were about 300 people there. Aysha said to me that this is a small wedding. I thought it was huge.

Dad and Aysha got dressed up. Aysha looked pretty. She had a pink dress on. It is called a Shalwar. Dad wore his suit. And I had new clothes and shoes. Luquman and Umar had shorts and waistcoats on, I was glad I had on only a shirt because it was hot.

What I wore to the wedding.

 Dad and Aysha.

Everybody was dressed up. They were wearing Shalwar's or another kind of dress a Sari. They were very colourful and some even had lots of jewels on them.

The wedding was really fancy, this is part of the dining room. There was a classical band there too, up in the balcony.

Dad and I were the only ones there that were not Sri Lankan, but this was cool as everybody was asking me questions.

The kids at the wedding had their own room and we had chips, fish fingers, sausages and vegetables for dinner. After this we had three types of Ice Cream. We even got to watch movies on the big screen!!! This was awesome.

We went in a prius car to the wedding. It was an eletric car and had a cool display showing the engine and the wheels moving. On the way home we went in a brand new KIA. It was silver and had cool wheels, and a driver.

We got home at midnight after the wedding and I slept in until 9 o'clock in the morning the day after.

We had a quiet day after the wedding. Aysha, Dad and I went out in the tuk tuk and had juice. I had a Strawberry Juice. It was all strawberry and it was yum!!!! We also went t the beach and I played on the tide line where the sand would fall away under my feet.

 Play equipment on Dehiwela Beach.

Look at this boat???

We saw fishermen pulling in their boats from fishing.

Dad, Aysha and I climbed out onto the rocks.

This sand was so much fun!!!!

mmmmmm.......Strawberry.

The next day Dad and Aysha went to the Waleema and I stayed with Auntie Katheedja. She cooked me dinner and we had fun. Dad wore a Kurta, which is like a long shirt, he looked like a king.
Dad and Aysha going to the Waleema.

Now we are in Ambalangoda at a really big house with heaps of rooms and a place to play cricket outside. There is a pond with frogs, really big ones with a white strip down their backs, and water snakes!!!! I got bitten by a red ant, so did Umar. It HURT!!! The ants are huge!!!.

 The house and the pond.

Luquman and I looking for Snakes and Frogs.

This is one of the sitting rooms...this house is huge!!!!

I played a new game called Carron with Uncle Shamal. It is like snooker, but you use your fingers to flick the pieces.

We played cricket for ages in the afternoon and had necto to drink. Tomorrow we are going to the market and to another beach...yay. I love the beach.

 Cricket!!!!

Cricket!!!!

We are staying here again tomorrow and then going to Colombo on Wednesday. We only have 4 more sleeps until I come home again on the big aeroplane.

I got an email from school, but we haven't had good internet until now to answer it. I will do it soon.

See you all soon.

My friend Janith

Aysha, Auntie Katheedja and Dad took me out for dinner to a big 5 Star hotel tonight that Katheedja's good friend is a boss at. There was a stream in the restaurant with waterfalls and sooooo many deserts!!!!

My friend Janith.

The waterfalls in the restaurant.

I had heaps to eat and heaps of deserts too.

I was so full that I almost fell asleep at the table.

 The restaurant.

We also saw a motorbike crash into a tuk tuk tonight, it was scary and Dad said that is why I had to hold his hand all the time and listen carefully when we were by the road.

Habarana, Elephants and Dambulla

We are back in Colombo after 2 days of travelling. We had a van all to ourselves and I sat in the back seat with Umar and Luqman. Hannah was laughing all the way and playing with my dad.

We drove for ages to Habarana where we were staying at the hotel. We had a room all to ourselves and it had a concrete bed and table. There was a soft bit on the bed too.

Our hotel in Habarana.

We got two big jeeps and went to the wildlife park. I stood up in the back. It was cool. The wind blew our hair a lot.

Our 4WD.

Standing in the back of the jeep.

The elephants were so close and there were baby's too.

Me and Aysha in the park.

My class says that baby's drink 8-10liters of milk a day and stay with their mums for 6-8yrs...wow.

These were Asian elephants, not African elephants which are much bigger and have different ears.

We saw a small tusker.

The next day we went to Dambulla which is an ancient Buddhist temple on top of a big rock. We climbed up to it and saw heaps of Macaque monkeys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhesus_macaque) they were really cheeky and came really close to pinch food, and well anything that was around.

Dambulla.

 Dambulla Temple.

 Lotus flowers.

 Inside the caves.

 The MONKEYS!!!!!!

That is me...not a MONKEY!!!!

I took photos of the Buddhas and paintings inside the caves.

We drove for ages again back to colombo and saw heaps of road side fruit stall and shops, we ate fresh bananas my new favorite.

Today we are having a quiet day because the wedding is tomorrow. Next week we are going to a big plantation house that we have rented for two days. There is another beach there and we are going to play a lot.

Aysha, Dad, Me and Hannah at Dambulla.

I have only a week and a bit left here in Sri Lanka, I will miss Sri Lanka cause I have had so much fun.
