Habarana and elephants.

Today we went on a big van ride to Habarana to visit Mineria the national park and see the elephants. 

It was a long ride and we saw many buses and Tuk Tuks. It took ages. 

When we got to Habarana we went in two big jeeps to the elephant parks. It was hotter than in Colombo. I went with dad and Aysha, Katheedja and Qadir. 

We went to the park and drove through the bush to the big water pond where all the elephants were. There were so many and we got really close. We took heaps of pictures, but since we don't have dad's computer we can't upload them yet. 

Tomorrow we are going to Dumbulla to visit the ancient caves with loads of Buddhas and rock paintings. I'll put pictures on when we get home tomorrow night. 

I got an email from school today. They are easing my blog. This makes me happy. I sent some post cards to mum, Nonnie and poppa and school. I hope they get there before me.

Trips in the tuk tuk.

We have had a few quiet days since our trip to Galle Fort.

Dad got his hair cut and I said I wanted mine cut too, there was a cool barber. I wanted it short cause it's hot. I like my new hair cut a lot.

Uncle Jaleel says I look like a movie star, Carry Grant. Who ever that is??

It has been hot and we have gone to the beach every day. So when it's hot we stay inside. We saw a man getting coconuts from a tree across from our building. He climbed up with out a rope.

Uncle Qadir has taken Me, Umar, Luqman and Dad to the cricket ground to play cricket in the afternoons. Uncle Qadir can bowl fast and hit the ball a long way. I can hit the ball from Umar's fast bowling. Dad got bowled out by Uncle, but hit a big shot the next ball. It is fun.

We walked along the rail way tracks and put 10rupees under the wheels, it was flat after the train went past.

We went out in the tuk tuk again today to book the hotel for our next trip, where we will see Elephants at the nature park. I saw another Lamborghini, my second ever. This one was white and Dad took a photo of me standing beside it.

We went to thew new port at Colombo. They have the same cranes that Uncle Dion drives. It was hot.

I took photos of temples that we saw in Pettah, and buses, and tuk tuk's.

We also stopped for fruit. There are a lot of yummy fruits here, especiall the small bananas. They are different to the ones we get at Dunedin and I have eaten about 47 since I have been here. Dad keeps saying that I will turn into a monkey.

Oh, we went to the DVD shop and Dad bought me a heap of DVD's. Ice Age 4, a Lego Chima, A Tom and Gerry, Epic, The Croods, Wreck it Ralph and heaps more.

I bought some post cards as well, and I am going to send these soon.

Galle Fort.

I was excited today because dad said that we were going to go on a big train ride and swim in a pool that was actually the ocean. We were all going to go to Galle Fort. Dad told me that Galle was in the Tsunami of 2004 and we saw where the water came up to.

We had to leave very early to catch the train. There were so many people that we didn't get a seat at first, but I got one and then Luqman and Umar got one too. By the end we were all squeezed into 3 seats, but it was fun.

The train was very big, and made a lot of noise. I fell asleep, but I also got to look out of the windows. The train was going fast.

We had a snack, my favorite sugar buns, and then went to the beach. We found corals and stuff at the beach, and splashed Aysha and Ruqi.

We looked around Galle Fort and had an Ice block. Dad and Aysha and Ruqi and Katheeja and us had lunch and then we went back home on the big bus.

I had a cool day and it was hot, it always is hot here.

Dad said we are going to Skype my friends at school on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka Day 3

Today we visited Galle Face Hotel. The Hotel is a big big place with many people in uniforms walking around.

We also visited Pettah and Forte, where we bought a kite to fly at the beach.

Tomorrow we are going on the express train to Galle Forte, to swim in the sea and hopefully see a snake in real life.

Sri Lanka Day 1.

We had a really long trip to Sri Lanka. We left Singapore when it was really dark and I couldn't stay awake because I have been doing so much looking.

When I woke up I played all day with Umar and Lukman. They gave me two planes a A330-200 Jet and a British Airways A380. They are huge, and awesome. We played on the roof of the apartment where the wind blew our planes around. Umar has a game on his computer we played for ages.

We went to the beach and saw the big trains. We made mountains in the sand and played in the waves.

Today was Eid Mubarak, there was celebrations and we ate lots of yummy food.

My first big adventure

Dad and me and Aysha are going to Sri Lanka for a whole month. We get to go in a big plane, a 777 actually. First we are going to Singapore.

It was hot outside and too cold inside. I ate gellato everyday and had fresh juice too. We met dad's friend Sarah and went to the zoo with Nate and Scarlett, we played in the water park at the zoo, there was a cool slide and a water shooter. It was awesome. Here are some photos I took, Dad took some too.

We are going to go on a big wheel and see the zoo. I saw a Ferrari and 3 Lamborghini's, one driving, one in a driveway and one up close. Went on a bus and a underground train, it was my first every time in the whole world on an underground train.
